Our Story
At The Etchist, our purpose is to ignite deeper connections between people and the moments that matter most. Our philosophy is simple: personalization creates meaning.
In a world where branded items are often generic and forgettable, we believe in transforming those items into lasting, emotionally charged experiences. By engraving on-site, we bring a hands-on, personal touch to every event, crafting moments that guests take with them—not just in their hands but in their hearts.
Our mission is to infuse every interaction with a sense of creativity, connection, and individuality, turning ordinary events into extraordinary experiences. This philosophy drives us to make every engraving a symbol of memory, emotion, and brand connection that lasts.
The Etchist was born from a simple idea: the desire to turn ordinary moments into meaningful memories. It all started with a fascination for the personal touch, the kind of detail that makes gifts and experiences unforgettable.
From humble beginnings, our founder realized that engraving could offer something more than just a name on an item—it could create a lasting connection between the giver, the recipient, and the experience.
That passion has been the driving force behind The Etchist’s growth, with the vision to transform every event into an opportunity for attendees to leave with a keepsake that truly resonates with them, both emotionally and personally. Our journey began with this spark of inspiration, and it's been pushing us forward ever since.
Our Mission
To transform ordinary events into extraordinary experiences through live, personalized laser engraving. We aim to create lasting memories and deepen connections with unique, high-quality keepsakes.
a small room
in fourways,
with a big laser.
the etchist started as one machine in a garage. five years on, it's still small on purpose — every piece passes through one pair of hands.

the studio
is the machine.
a 60m² workshop in fourways — racks of raw stock, two extraction systems, one well-loved fibre laser, one diode for the soft stuff, and a long bench where the proofs get laid out before anything heats up.

one pair of hands
on everything.
the etchist is run by one maker — every brief is read by them, every proof is laid out by them, every piece is finished by them. that's the ceiling and the point. we keep the studio small so the work stays personal.
background in industrial design, ten years in fabrication before the first laser landed. trained on furniture, somehow ended up engraving wedding favours at 2am. no regrets.

ethos
ethos
four rules.
we keep them.
small on purpose
we don't scale the studio, we scale the run. one set of hands, every time.
proof before flame
nothing meets the laser until you've seen exactly what it'll look like.
a piece, not a print
the object matters as much as the engraving. we curate the substrate.
on the night, on time
live events have one shot. we arrive early. we have backups. we don't wing it.
